Entrusted by National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People's Republic of China, National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center has undertaken to organise the technical review of five food contact materials since July 2016. The five food contact materials have passed the technical review of the assessment panel, which are open for opinions ending on 22 August 2016.

The consultation includes the five new food contact materials as below:

  • N,N,N′,N′-tetrakis(2-hydroxypropyl) adipamide,
  • 1,8-bis[(4-Methylphenyl)amino]-9,10-anthracenedione
  • Dichlorodimethylsilane reaction products with silica
  • Formaldehyde polymer with 2-methylphenol
  • Formaldehyde, polymer with 4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)phenol and phenol
C&K Testing advises manufacturers of food contact materials shall be clear about the requirements, arrange production and testing. It is noted that imported food contact materials shall also comply with national standards in China.
