China organized the drafting of amendment drafts (soliciting comments) for two mandatory national standards.

Effective January 1, 2026, the supporting standard for China RoHS implements its Amendment No. 1.

The State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China have jointly issued the new GB 19083-2023 "Medical Protective Masks," which will officially replace the current GB 19083-2010 version on December 1, 2025.

On July 29, 2025, the Secretariat of the National Food Safety Standard Review Committee announced the drafting of 30 national food safety standards, including the National Food Safety Standard-Standard for the Use of Nutritional Fortification Substances in Foods, for public consultation. This initiative is conducted in accordance with the Food Safety Law and its implementing regulations.

On May 30, 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China jointly issued two mandatory national standards. They are: Limitation of Hazardous Substances in Paints Part 1: Architectural Paints" (GB 30981.1-2025), and Limitation of Hazardous Substances in Paints Part 2: Industrial Paints" (GB 30981.2-2025). These two standards will officially take effect on June 1, 2026. This marks a new phase of more precise and stricter control over hazardous substances in architectural and industrial paints in China

On April 14, 2025, the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the completion of the drafting of three mandatory national standards, including the "Requirements for Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products" (see Attachments 1 and 2). The ministry is now soliciting public comments. The public comment period ends on April 21, 2025.
