Additionally, 4,4'-[2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(trifluoromethyl)ethylidene]diphenol (BPAF) and its salts have been added to the SVHC candidate list without committee discussion.
November 5, 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) officially announced the 35th batch of 1 substance of very concern, bringing the total number of substances on the SVHC list (also known as the Candidate List) to 251. Earlier in October, the Member State Committee (MSC) unanimously agreed during its October meeting to classify this substance as a SVHC.

On February 18, 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) proposed adding n-hexane to the Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) Candidate List due to its probable serious effects on human health. Currently, the relevant dossier for n-hexane is being actively prepared by the proposer and is expected to be submitted by August 4, 2025.
January 21, 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has officially announced the 33rd batch of 5 substances of very high concern (SVHC), bringing the total number of substances on the SVHC list (also known as the Candidate List) to 247.
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) plans to expand its Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) by adding six substances from January 6, 2025, taking the total to 248. Octamethyltrisiloxane is among the new additions.
